decade ago, when the IB program began at Myers Park High School,
the International Baccalaureate Parents Advisory Council (IBPAC),
a non-profit, Section 501(c)(3) corporation, was created to
provide much-needed parental support for the students, teaching
staff and the coordinator, Dr. Ron Thomas. Through countless
volunteer hours and generous financial support, our parents
remain a strong and unified group working toward one goal; the
success of our students.
The IBPAC governing body is comprised of an Executive Board
and many parent committee chairs/liaisons. In addition, over
one hundred support parents are available to assist with a
wide range of tasks from proctoring tests to office duties.
We strongly encourage all parents of IB students to get involved
with this very worthwhile organization.
